What to bring

We suggest you bring the following with you to Bagus Place:
  • Suncream
  • Sunhat
  • Mosquito repellent (we don’t have a big mosquito problem but just in case)
  • Plastic shoes for paddling and swimming
  • soap and shampoo
As it's difficult for us to dispose of plastics at Bagus Place, please take any empty containers back home with you to recycle.

You don’t need to bring:
  • Beach towels or bath towels
On Tioman Island it’s difficult to purchase:
  • Medicines you would normally find in a pharmacy
  • Female sanitary products
Please also remember to bring cash with you for your accommodation balance (unless you have paid in advance), your bar bill, and any other extras.  There is one ATM on Tioman Island, next to the airport, and it doesn’t always work!

A rough idea of costs at Bagus Place: a bottle of wine from MYR60, cocktails from MYR15, beer MYR11, champagne from MYR120 (subject to availability), trips and massage from MYR75.

What to expect

An exquisite location, good food, wine and cocktails, enjoyable company, a friendly welcome, new experiences, hot weather, the possibility of rain or a power-cut, insects, a friendly visit from a monkey in your chalet (any consumables must be kept in your fridge)!

We regret to inform customers that some chalets are being built on a site about 100 metres along the coast from Bagus Place.  We are working with the owners of the land to ensure noise and environmental disruption is kept to a minimum.  There should not be any noisy construction as the chalets are nearly finished with just painting and furnishing to be completed.  The latest update is that the work will be finished by March 2012.

What not to expect!
