Getting to Bagus Place

Even though Tioman feels like a remote island paradise, it’s surprisingly well connected. Please choose whether you’ll be coming from (or via) Kuala Lumpur or Singapore.

From Kuala Lumpur

By Air: You can fly direct from KL to Tioman in just 45 minutes on Berjaya Air (www.berjaya-air.com).  Flights depart daily on Dash 7 aircraft, which is a 48-seater propeller plane. We’ll pick you up from the airport and take you by speedboat to Bagus Place, which will take about 25 minutes.  You will be provided with the phone number of the person picking you up and will be asked to provide your phone number.  Please note this number will not work all the time (at Bagus Place there is very limited phone reception) and you may need to SMS or leave a voice message.

By Sea: You can travel from KL to Mersing on mainland Malaysia by bus or taxi. This would take five to six hours.  Ferries depart throughout the day from Mersing to Tioman. The ferry that operates on the Mersing-Tioman-Mersing route takes about 1.5 hours to reach Tioman Island. Please note, weather and sea state are random events, and as such, may influence ferry departure time, in particular during the monsoon season. You should get off the ferry at Genting. You will be provided with the phone number of the person picking you up and will be asked to provide your phone number.  Please note this number will not work all the time (at Bagus Place there is very limited phone reception) and you may need to SMS or leave a voice message.  The ferry from Mersing to Genting can be booked via www.tiomanferry.com or with bryan@tiomanferry.com.
